This was such a joy to play! So wonderfully atmospheric. It was great getting more of a glimpse into Tetrine and Rosemary's relationship. Not sure how you managed to produce such a rich, world-building story in such a relatively short game. Loved the graphics, the story, the characters--everything!

Thank you so much! :-) I'm glad you liked it!

Well, it did take me several tries to figure out how to write a short story game in a fantasy world. x)

That was really fun!  Reminded me of classic point n' click games, but without their rough edges.  The compass system to change areas is nifty, and I'm really impressed at how we can click to move Rosey to that spot, like an actual adventure game (despite using Ren'Py).

Love the gorgeous pixel artwork. ♥  Rosey, Trine, and Fell are each interesting characters in their own right, and I enjoyed seeing how the events unfolded in each ending.

If I had one minor critique, lower the default music and SFX volumes. 100% volume was a bit too loud for me.

I also appreciate how you managed to fit in lore about the characters' histories and the setting in such a short word count.

Wonderful job!

Whaddayamean rough edges? lol, they were perfect works of art~

For the point n' click movement, I spent like a week reading up on Python and some of that highschool geometry I'd forgotten. Per K Grok's tutorial on Lemmasoft was also a big help - otherwise I wouldn't even know it could be done in Ren'Py... at least not without breaking Ren'Py's main features.

Anyway, thanks for the comment! I'm glad it was fun!

Also wow, I haven't seen that video in a lo-o-ong time.

I understand some are more sensitive to noise than others (I'm one of them ), but my preference is to give the player the option to choose, when, as in this case, the musician provides a full range of sound.

Tightly written story, compelling characters, and beautiful graphics! It really brought me back to older point and click adventure games I played and loved.

Fantastic work!!!

Wow, thanks! :-)

Stylish, tense, beautifully written, and I really enjoyed the contrasting nostalgia between the pixelated art style and the 1920s-influenced world. A lovely and enjoyable game! (and now I'll have to go and check out the other games with Tetrine and Rosie after this!)

Thank you for the comment!

Love the style and atmosphere, the graphics are superb. The compass for navigation is a nice touch as well. I think I might be stuck in a 'spying' section though. Can't figure out what I'm supposed to do.

Thank you! :-)

If you're in the area I think you are, that means you can explore the house and cabin freely. Try looking through the cabin and then the house.

If you can't access the house, try spying on them again.

i'm spying for the second time (or maybe third? can't remember now) but fell and tetrine aren't saying anything. i can explore the house, but i can't leave. i think just previously to this, i was waiting for tetrine so we could leave.

Which version of the game do you have? The latest is 1.2a which should solve the bug. 1.1 was definitely broken here, 1.2 may have shown you a repeat version. If you have 1.2a, try this sequence:
Go to the cabin, look at the boat, then the junk, then go to the house and look at Tetrine's luggage, then go back and look at the boat.

i've got 1.2a. i'll try that out and let you know how i go. cheers!

uh yeah, think i must have found another way to access the bug :(

i'm already in the house and i can't leave to check the cabin again.  if i try to leave, rosemary says 'i can explore later, i'm pretty tired'. and checking the luggage just says 'that's tetrine's luggage', and that's it.

i will say i don't remember seeing 'junk' in the cabin. maybe that's triggering it?

i have a save file from a fair bit earlier, i'll try going back to that tomorrow. definitely want to see what happens in the story.
